It is situated in Baidi village, Sanba District, 101 km from the seat of Zhongdian County, with an elevation of 2,3800 meters. Hydrofoil contained in springs originating from the mountain karst cave has formed some white tosca of calcium carbonate through irradiation of sunshine. The white tosca terrace has carpeted the soil surface, solidified, crystallized, and formed day-by-day white tosca terraces. Because the tosca contains little impurity, it looks as white as polished jade. The white tosca terraces are formed on the mountain slopes and in the distance they look like a stagnant waterfall as well as a giant white marble sculpture; while at short range, they local people it has always enjoyed the reputation of being a God-Sent. According to the scientific data given by the experts concerned, the formation of the white water terrace goes back to about 200,000-300,000years ago. It was a famous tourist attraction in western Yunnan as early as the Tang and song Dynasties.
