Seven-star crag

The seven-star crag was originally an underground watercourse. About 1 million years ago, the earth's crust rose and the watercourse became a cave. In subsequent millenniums, rain eroded the limestone and the solutions gradually crystallized into stalactites in various forms.

A stalactite is an icicle-like pendant of calcium carbonate formed by rainwater percolating through limestone, as on a cave roof, while a stalagmite is an upward-growing comical formation on the floor. Formed by the drip from the roof or from a stalactite, which making it a popular attraction some 1,700 years ago.
